A first partnership of its kind between Jason Bruges Studio and Sonocea®.
Combining art, technology, and neuroscience, the partnership defines a new category of artistic expression - one that operates not only aesthetically, but physiologically.
Sonocea was born from a transatlantic collaboration between Dr Stephen W. Porges, a world-renowned expert in behavioural neuroscience, and Anthony Gorry, an audio innovator and creative technologist. Together, they developed an acoustic neuromodulation platform designed to support autonomic nervous system regulation through precision-engineered sound aligned with biological rhythms.
Now, they’re working with Jason Bruges Studio (JBS) – internationally recognised for pioneering work at the intersection of art, architecture and technology. Over the past 24 years, JBS has been developing commissioned artworks within an architectural canvas, using a high-tech, mixed-media palette to weave a sense of magic into the fabric of a place.

Mirror State at Greater Together LA
Mirror State is the first experiment from this collaboration - a sono-lumière performance that brings this vision into physical form.
Exclusively developed for Greater Together LA, the multi-sensory intervention creates a moment for reset and quiet introspection. Lumino-kinetic sculptures and scientifically engineered sound combine in a subtle choreography - designed to gently influence human state in real time.
Experienced collectively at an ambient level, and more deeply through an individual headphone layer, Mirror State offers a direct encounter with how environments can shape how we feel.
About the Partners

Jason Bruges is internationally renowned as a pioneer of the hybrid space between art, architecture and technology. His artworks are site-specific, ‘sculptural barometers’ that tap into the emotional tapestry of a community or place by translating live feedback into living, breathing, spatial interventions. A master of light and kinetic art, Jason combines his architectural knowledge with a high-tech, mixed-media palette to explore spectacle, time-based interventions and dynamic immersive experiences. His artworks are moments of theatre that transform in response to their surroundings and connect people with their environments. In 2002, Jason set up Jason Bruges Studio where he works with a talented team of architects, engineers, computational designers, creative technologists and project managers to deliver a diverse array of art projects worldwide. To develop the work, the Studio relies on design by making and prototyping to support innovation. This experimental approach has positioned the Studio at the cutting-edge of media art and architecture. Paving the way for a new genre of cross-disciplinary creative practices, Jason Bruges Studio combines technology and storytelling to evolve bespoke artworks that surprise, delight and stir the imagination.

Sonocea is a neuroscience-led technology company developing an acoustic neuromodulation platform that supports autonomic nervous system regulation. Using precision-engineered sound aligned to biological rhythms, it enables scalable, non-invasive approaches to supporting regulation, recovery, and performance. Co-created by Professor Stephen W. Porges, a world-renowned expert in behavioural neuroscience, and Anthony Gorry, an audio innovator and creative technologist, Sonocea combines decades of nervous system research with deep expertise in how sound shapes human physiology. The platform is clinically informed and deployable across healthcare, workplaces, elite sport, and high-performance environments. Its credibility is supported by ongoing independent clinical studies at the University of Florida College of Medicine and Harvard Medical School in the United States, and University Hospital Basel, Switzerland, as well as collaborations with the U.S. Department of Defense, Leidos, and Unyte.
